Like the previous World Exhibitions, Poland treats its participation in EXPO in a multidimensional way. The national exhibition prepared in the area designated by the organisers will be accompanied by an economic programme activating Polish entrepreneurs before, during and after the exhibition.
According to the EXPO 2020 project leader, Monika Dyląg-Sajór Polish companies may benefit from sponsoring the inbuild elements of the pavilion or the interiors as well as such events as Polish Day during the expo. The offer will be presented to companies via one-on-one meeting starting in June.
In March, the Polish government appointed Tomasz Pisula, the President of the Polish Investment and Trade Agency, as the Commissioner General of the Polish Section of the World Exhibition EXPO 2020 in Dubai (UAE). Therefore, PAIH became the organiser of Poland’s participation in the exhibition, and the Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Technology will supervise the performance of the task.
EXPO 2020 is the first World Exhibition to be held in the MEASA region, which covers the areas of the Middle East, Africa and South Asia. The United Arab Emirates have maintained their position as Poland’s largest economic and trading partner in the Arab world for nearly a decade. Since 2013, bilateral trade between Poland and the UAE has grown to total approximately USD 1 billion a year. The World Exhibition in Dubai is an excellent opportunity to strengthen relationships with a young, dynamically developing state that is of great importance to companies seeking to expand internationally, given its role as a gateway to the MEASA region. It will be held from 20 October 2020 to 10 April 2021, and its organisers expect as many as 25 million guests.
