According to the Hungarian Central Statistical Office, in 2017 construction output increased by 29.6%, thanks to the boom in the hosuing sector. "Last year, about 44% more apartments were comissioned on yearly basis. Surprisingly, the major increase was generated by cities smaller than Budapest" – Marcin Karaskiewicz, Head of the Foreign Trade Office in Budapest, explains. He adds that the dynamic GDP growth make the demand for buliding materials soar. "They must be ordered months in advance. Major companies cannot ignore this opportunity" - Karaskiewicz stresses.
Thanks to the Marcin Karaskiewicz effort, Polish producer of roofing materials Lemar, takes the advantage of the Hungarian prosperity. His office helped them to find a Hungarian distributor. The first delivery was launched on August 29th.
"We found Hungary an attractive market because of the promising prospects. That is why we asked PAIH to help us find business partners" – Pawe³ Borgie³, export manager at Lemar, says. The company took part in the biggest construction fair in Hungary, Construma. PAIH has been organising the Polish booth there for two years. "Construma is the first step when one wants to enter the market. Last year we found Hungarian distributors for two Polish producers: Pezal and Dħbex" – Karaskiewicz explains.
On August 14th Lemar signed a long-term deal with Bázis-Art-Kemikál Fata Kft (BAK). According to the agreement, Hungarian BAK is the exclusive distributor of Lemar’s roofing materials in Hungary.
Lemar plans to be more active in other European countries.
