PAIH supports Hyland’s new R&D center in Poland

Hyland, a leading content services provider based in Cleveland, will open a research and development center in Katowice, hiring nearly 80 talented IT specialists. The Polish Investment and Trade Agency (PAIH) has been supporting the project.

Hyland is an innovator and leader in the content services sector, employing more than 3,500 people globally, including London, Sao Paulo, and Tokyo. In Poland, the American company is establishing a research and development (R&D) center, where nearly 80 engineers will develop innovative products and services. Hyland plans to open the Katowice office in the second quarter of this year.

The team based out of our new R&D center in Katowice will play a key role in the ongoing development of Hyland’s content services platform, which helps thousands of organizations around the world transform operations and provide better experiences to the people they serve," said Bill Priemer, President and CEO of Hyland. "We value the depth of technology talent that Poland has to offer, and we’re excited to expand Hyland’s presence in the European market".Since 2016 PAIH has supported the completion of over 70 American investment projects. One in 4 American investments in PAIH’s portfolio has regarded IT or R&D processes. Hyland’s partnership with PAIH started in July 2019. The Agency’s experts advised the investor in finding the best location.

"Poland’s IT sector is a great brand in itself, and investments such as Hyland’s R&D center are testament of the immense trust put by global players in the skills of our specialists. We are proud that the Polish Investment and Trade Agency can support investments that are so advanced technologically and so valuable for the Polish economy," stressed Grażyna Ciurzyńska, Acting President of the Polish Investment and Trade Agency.

"It is very good news that Hyland has decided to locate its R&D center in Katowice. This choice confirms our strong position in the sector of modern business services on a national scale. For the city it also means a number of benefits, new attractive jobs, development of the real estate market, attracting young people who can decide to live in the city instead of commuting and, last but not least, strengthening the Katowice brand on the new technologies market. I wish the company a lot of success in the coming months,” said Marcin Krupa, Mayor of Katowice.

"We have another important and innovative project in Katowice. In less than two years, an advanced research and development center in the field of IT will be created. This is another confirmation of the Katowice SEZ investment attractiveness and access to excellent human resources for advanced solutions in the region," said Janusz Michałek, PhD, President of the Katowice Special Economic Zone.
