On the first day of their visit to Poland, representatives of the East Port Said (EP) Industrial Park operating in the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCEZ) participated in the "Integrated Industrial Goal" conference. The event was graced by the statement of HE Hatem Tageldin - Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Poland, as well as Essam El Naggar - Commercial Counselor of the Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Poland. The participants of the conference also heard HE Walid Gamal Eldin - President of the Suez Canal Economic Zone. In turn, the Egyptian side presented conditions for investing in Egypt. On the second day of the mission, study visits were held in companies operating in the KSEZ, as well as meetings with representatives of PAIH, the Polish Development Fund (PFR) and the Ministry of Development and Technology.
Egypt, with a population of over 100 million, is the most populous country in the Middle East and the largest economy in North Africa. Foreign investors are welcomed with support of the authorities and the interest of potential business partners. For this reason, we support Polish entrepreneurs in their expansion into the Egyptian market, through the PAIH office in Cairo. I am glad that we can strengthen our bilateral relations and host representatives of one of the leading industrial parks in Egypt - emphasized Zdzisław Sokal, Member of PAIH’s Management Board, who met with the Egyptian delegation at the Agency's Headquarters.
East Port Said Industrial Park is a 16 km2 industrial and logistics park located in the north of Egypt on the Mediterranean Sea. EP is adjacent to the container terminal of East Port Said. The Suez Canal Economic Zone area is considered one of North Africa's most important logistics hubs due to its excellent location and the huge support offered by the Egyptian government
Our goal is to create mutual benefits for both the Egyptian and Polish sides, which will fill the gaps in the value chain and increase its efficiency in reaching other countries around the world. We see this as an excellent opportunity for Polish companies looking for foreign expansion - said Karim Sami Saad, President of East Port Said Development Co. Ltd.
The priority of the mission was to promote investments in the Suez Canal Economic Zone, which offers attractive conditions for the development of industrial production and business development in the EMEA region (Europe, Middle East & Africa). PAIH’s Foreign Trade Office in Cairo intensively supports these activities by: providing market information, matching potential business partners, organizing business missions and events promoting Polish-Egyptian economic cooperation and building relations with Egyptian partners. In May 2022, during the visit of the President of the Republic of Poland to Egypt, PAIH signed a cooperation agreement with the Egyptian General Authority for Investment (GAFI), thanks to which Polish investors can count on special support for their projects in Egypt.
The mission took place from January 30 to February 2, 2023.
