Poland and Scotland share a similar direction of change and potential for cooperation. These are the main conclusions of the Polish-Scottish Forum, which took place at the Ministry of Development and Technology with the participation of representatives of the Governments of both countries, the Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce, the Scottish Chambers of Commerce and the business community. The main topic of the talks was green technology and energy transformation.
In his speech, Grzegorz Oszast, a member of PAIH’s Management Board, assured participants of the Agencies comprehensive assistance to companies wishing to locate their businesses in Poland. Minister Grzegorz Piechowiak emphasized Poland’s attractiveness as a location for investment with its favourable economic and legal environment. Ivan McKee, Scotland's Minister for Business, Trade, Tourism and Entrepreneurship, spoke of the need for cooperation on renewables, hydrogen technologies and other solutions needed to realise the energy transition.
The issue of Great Britain's exit from the European Union and the impact of this on relations between Poland, Scotland and the United Kingdom was also discussed. The participants stressed the need to further strengthen economic relations between our countries, regardless of other international agreements. The participants also learned about the prospects for the development of green energy technology in Poland - including issues related to the production and storage of raw materials such as hydrogen and ammonia.
The Forum took place in Warsaw during an ongoing economic mission from Scotland, chaired by Minister Ivan McKee.
