On August 10th, PAIH’s Foreign Trade Office in Kiev and the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Kiev organized a meeting of Polish business with the State Agency for Reconstruction and Development of Infrastructure of Ukraine. This agency is currently one of the main entities managing the processes of rebuilding the country from the destruction caused by the Russian invasion. The meeting was attended by Oleksandra Azarkhina, Deputy Minister of Development of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure of Ukraine. Representatives of Polish companies participated in the event in Kiev live and remotely. Current information on the course of reconstruction processes was presented, as well as implemented projects and the need for key services and materials.
The event was devoted primarily to the legal aspects of the Ukrainian public procurement system in the context of the participation of Polish companies in Ukrainian reconstruction projects. Polish business had the opportunity to submit its comments and objections to the system and proposals for its improvement. The talks concerned tender requirements and procedures as well as the rules of access to tenders for foreign entities.
The Ukrainian side confirmed that the submitted comments will become the basis for the amendments to Ukrainian law, that are being developed to make the participation of Polish business wider and more effective. It was emphasized that the initiated exchange of information will contribute to bringing the Ukrainian public procurement system closer to EU standards, as well as increasing its predictability and transparency.
